I bought mine big as well. he is the only one that i bought that was already grown. I suspect he was in a rather small tank cause from the front you can see a kind of hump on one side. Its as if he broke his spine a little.frnchjeep;4790264; said:Well, good to see that they are happy. I have to ask about your big bala. I used to have one around the same size. His belly was flat, and he had a larger than usual hump in his back. He wasn't arrow shaped like balas usually are. I always thought he was a little "special", but I see yours is like that, too. Has he always been like that, or did he grow into it? I bought mine big, so I didn't get to see him grow.
lol yeah and i just got one more today for an even 20.Cichla dude;4790338; said:WOW! Thats quite a lot of silverdollars.
Ah. I never really knew if it was genetic or injury. Yours is the only other one I've seen that was the same.derekp;4790341; said:I bought mine big as well. he is the only one that i bought that was already grown. probably injury. I bet they got freaked out at one time in a small tank and ran really hard into the glass. He eats and swims fine though.frnchjeep;4790368; said:Ah. I never really knew if it was genetic or injury. Yours is the only other one I've seen that was the same.
Its actually an old lobster tank from a supermarket I got off of craigslist for $120 I works perfectly but it wont fit in the house. lolSimonL;4790598; said:Cool, that's a uniquely designed tank! I'd personally fill the bottom "pit" with crayfish or something and watch the other fish fall in...
