I bought mine big as well. he is the only one that i bought that was already grown. I suspect he was in a rather small tank cause from the front you can see a kind of hump on one side. Its as if he broke his spine a little.

How big does it look?

It measures 6x3x2 on the top part and 3x2x1 on the bottom in the middle.

Ah. I never really knew if it was genetic or injury. Yours is the only other one I've seen that was the same.

probably injury. I bet they got freaked out at one time in a small tank and ran really hard into the glass. He eats and swims fine though.
 
Cool, that's a uniquely designed tank! I'd personally fill the bottom "pit" with crayfish or something and watch the other fish fall in...:D

Its actually an old lobster tank from a supermarket I got off of craigslist for $120 :D I works perfectly but it wont fit in the house. lol
