Oh ok, well first off, I forgot you framed it like my tank :D I'm such a tard sometimes. Too many projects to keep up with.

What I did is put a hard rubber strip over the Dow 795. Too tired to go find the pic on my thread. In short, I filled the gap with Dow 795 then stuck the hard rubber strip over it. A small bead of Dow 795 was applied to the backside of the acrylic where the hard rubber overlaps. The acrylic was roughed up for extra adhesion.

I'll take a pic tomorrow if you don't understand. The hard rubber was obtained from a rubber supply house and cut to size (1.5" width). The thickness was 3/4" I believe. Enough to be flush with the plywood sheathing.
I remember the way you did your put I dont think you took a picture of it. I am going to try to find a place around here to get a rubber strip but if I cant the PC "should" span the gap and seal as long as it adhears to the glass.

Yes, you can bridge over the silicone.

Give the silicone a week to cure BEFORE applying any PC near it, over it, etc.

When you apply the PC use LIGHT COATS with a day to dry between each. It'll take longer, but you can be certain it's fully cured when you're done. Meaning their won't be any guessing. Not that you don't have to wait for it to cure after you apply the last coat.

This is exactly why they say NOT to use thick coats and build upon each thin coat until you get 60-80 mil. You want it to be the thickness of two credit cards when you're done. That's what Scott told me.

You can either wait 2 weeks to be sure it's cured or get a moisture meter.

I'm the same way as you. I want it done now.

Thanks, I ordered the replacement glass today and talked to the glass shop about squaring up the broken pieces for another project later. They will cut the glass for $12 a cut. In other news as to just how great the wife is, when I was removing the broken glass from the tank I set the end down on the carpet. That would be the end of the glass with the still wet black pond coat on it. Left a black streak on the beige carpet about 18" long. Can you guess where the loveseat is going? The wife didn't say a thing other than I was having a really bad day!

Cant say as that I would have gotten that nice a response. I get in trouble for dripping water on the floor :) But she has told me as long as we have 1 couch in the house she does not care how many tanks I have. Good enough.

She really is a great wife and sorry Pete, no sister! Over the years she has put up with 110G tanks having the backs blow out, water running down the driveway because I forgot to turn a hose off to an RO/DI unit....I could go on and on! Water and I really dont get along very well. Why I am building a 315G tank is anyones guess!
