My 315G Plywood Tank Build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Called the glass dealer today and got a case of sticker shock when it comes to some of the glass. Here'e the deal. I need glass measuring 85.5 x 28.5, I wanted 5/8s thick but they cant get it. So, it's either 1/2" or 3/4". The 1/2" is $200, if I go 1/2" starfire it's $380, if I go 3/4" it's $840:WHOA:. Looks like I am going to go with the 1/2" regular glass and use the rest of the money for insurance. Tomorrow I am going on a road trip to NC to pick up the Pond Coat.

Ouch. That's why I was going to stay under 24". Then you can go with 3/8" glass and its MUCH cheaper... less than $200 for a 96x24 sheet.

Picked up the Pond Coat today, also ordered the pump, filter sock assemblies, and glass. Glass will be here in about 2 weeks. Gives me time to work on the Pond Coat and see what trhis stuff is like. Tonight, I am going out to re-work the sump a little and cover over all of the screws inside the tank.
