Did some work on the sump today and got another coat of Pond Coat on the tank. The pump and the filter sock assemblies came in so I played around with them and cut the grates for the bottom of the filter foam bays. Also spent an hour or so drilling 1/4" holes in a piece of plexiglas for the drip plate. Anyway, here are pics of the filter socks or one end of the tank and the Quiet One 9000 pump.
I "adjusted" the exterior bracing on the tank to make room for the bulkhead to be where I wanted it too. I am confident it will work out. I want to rough in the plumbing but need to hold off until the pond coating is done and the tank gets moved indoors. Right now I have a foot of snow between my workshop and the house. This needs to melt!
I got the filter sock assemblies mounted in their final resting place. I had to add a 1" piece of aluminum tubing to each end of the sump. I noticed that the top of the filter socks were level with the first overflow wall. I didn't want to cut the walls down and reseal them so I raised the socks. I also changed the plumbing leading into the return pump. The holes in the PVC really served no purpose. I added 45 degree downturns to the ends of the pipe to pulll water more from the bottom of the sump. Also went down along the river with the wife and collected some driftwood.
