looking at all of this.....all I can say is I could definitely work with you "on the job" great work man.There isn't very many people in this world who can really work with wood and actually love the wood they work with...... except for a few of us human termites One of my biggest sayings is,"I love wood!Theres nothing in this world I couldn't build if I just had enough wood!"
Well,I do love my tools also and nails and screws aren't all that bad either.Great work and craftsmanship man.Really diggin the whole project.The stain is coming out awesome also-FINISH IT!

Using old tank water has little to no benefit! The bacteria live on the surfaces in the aquarium and are not free floating! If they were free floating then people with UV sterilizers would never have a cycled tank.

I would say to just go to ace hardware and buy some non sudsing, pure ammonia (you are gonna need a lot for this tank) and fishless cycle.

Personally, I would use some of Jesse's water to help cycle considering it is what the fish is used to.....I wouldnt really worry too much considring that you have 500 gallons and his tank isnt even a tenth of that size. Which would mean that it would be diluted.....Sure, you can use some of my water if you like. I would start doing water samples from his tank and do solution tests to see param's....and if he lets you monitor the water there and do changes when you are getting closer to putting the fish in......another thing you can do is use a 55 gallon cooler to tranport the fish......slowly put some of the water that is in your tank in the cooler....make sure they are in similar temperature so the fish doesnt go into shock....which will lead to stress and possible death. Anyhow, hit me up when you are thinking of doing a transfer.

Well the LFS owner talked me into putting a few fish in.. He said if they die you get your money back.. lol

4 Albino Tinfoil barbs .. I figure it will be a nice addition as a mid swimming fish with the Arow and CK's. They are good tank cleaners too..

They ate after being in the tank for 10 minutes.. they are playing and acting like it's no sweat to be in water that was put in last friday and was given Stress Zyme and that's it... So let there be fish.!! lol.. this will help my tank Cycle..

Don't ask me how this fish ended up on the outside of the glass in the first pic.. crazy yeah.? lol

Wow. this is the 2nd tank I just viewed that was built. This is some good stuff. I'm glad that you included what materials you used. I might try my hand at something not quite as big but bigger than the 55 I have now. Good work.
