My Amphilophus Sagittae journal

I had never really given this species much thought until I read this thread. Now I need one. Casper is one of the best looking cichlids I’ve seen. Now to see about getting a tank... may be a while.

So last night I took the new filters out of the boxes to get ready to install them today. Sadly I didn't look them over that much. I then took out the recycling, along with the boxes the ACs came in. Well this morning I start to wash the filters and notice one of the cases are cracked.

So I start a replacement ticket and need the box it came in to return it. I head out to the recycling to grab it and of course the recycling has already been picked up so the now I can't return it for a new one.....so I ordered a new case, will be here Friday.
 
When you started out with your group how long did you keep them on the smaller pellets shown at the beginning of your posts?
 
I am so frigging angry!!!

Inspect anything you order online thoroughly when it arrives before you discard any packaging etc.

I was looking at my tank this morning and I see this line in the paint on the back. 20210114_131033.jpg
So I investigate and find out that now two of the three filters arrived with with a broken cases. :wall:

Now I have to waste another 44bucks buying another case..........
 
I think AC 110's are just poorly packaged right now. A few months ago I bought one from Petsmart, took it home and saw it was cracked. I then went to exchange it, and the other AC 110 they had in stock was also cracked. It seems like they barely fit in the box they are packaged in and there is basically no cushion if they get banged around in transport.
