My Amphilophus Sagittae journal

I was quite surprised this morning when I turned the lights on. I saw her tube down. Last couple days her belly has looked bigger than normal. I just thought she was getting more food than normal with me putting in food for the fry and her eating some of it. I was wrong. Night feeding I saw the pair taking turns swimming over to that pot. I look over and sure enough we have eggs.

Don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, look thru the side of the tank..... head meet desk...desk meet head...

So I take a gander and WOW they have a ton of eggs in there.20181216_195037.jpg

And still laying more......

Well the eggs are starting to either hatch out or get eaten by Casper/Goldie or the last batch of fry still in there.

Well I had no choice, i had to separate Goldie, Carpet was being a complete a@@ hat to get and tore up some. So she is in the 55gal for rest and relaxation. Hope it will go ok when I reintroduce them.

Been two hours and Goldie has claimed half of the 55 for herself. Everyone else is staying on the other side...
