I dont think they are worms. A few of my polys havw those markings plus the anchor worm would be visible. I had a thread a while back with what i thought were anchor worms if you want check my threads just to put your mind at rest.

So I looked real close last night. They aren't moving and are oriented flat. Not raised like a worm. He has similar marks on the other side of the head. PLUS I just treated everyone prophylactically a month ago.
From my perception they looked sticking out. Jaws yours looks flat nothing like a worm to me. But if you looked and didn' see anything you should be good. Better safe than sorry. I didn' check a new fish and didn' quarantine it since it came from a friend and it made a outbreak in my tank. Treated no issues.
Funny thing wgat i rhought were anchor worms was actully a piece of tilapia lol
