I hate to say but I really agree with the hanging areas, would of deffently made the sand at least the same size LxWxH as the tank. The doors are a good ideal, and I really like the hood.

Guys relax :), the tank is far from finished at this stage as there are a lot of structural additions to come, by the time I've added the additional layers of ply for the structure of the bottom sucking filtration the base of the tank will be several layers thick around the edges.

And that's before I even start with the epoxy resin and fibreglass:headbang2

Update, All the major peices are now cut to size, including the stand I've used 5 sheets of ply (though with almost a sheet worth of offcuts). I've added a shaped re-inforcing layer on the base and the upper bracing peice which will help support the top edge of the front which holds the glass, this peice is double layer in part for added strength.

I think its looking good. I'm sure you have solutions to these problems being presented and I'm excited to see it all come together.

and its a SWEET tank design.

The over hang had me worried as well. But seeing your re-enforcement plans unfold I recon it'll be plenty strong, especially after you Fibre glass that sucker :thumbsup:
