I like it but I don't think I could get it started.
Another way is to set it up dry and put the garden hose in the outlet end and fill it up...then pull out the hose and your syphon will be started...

It's amazing how the flow goes up when you get bigger pipe/tubing.

I use a piece of 1 1/2" acrylic tubing if I want to empty something fast!
Yeah it does...BTW nice Christmas trees! :D

:OMG:You've invented...wait for it..........The SYPHON! :mwave:

And an inlet screen used for pumping from lakes and ditches (they look cooler at HD don't ya think).

Put a threaded connector on the outlet, when don't draining screw on a reducer (you could put in a 'T' and valve but that's more $$) and hook the potable water hose to the carbon filter from the house water and refill with the same pipe.

P.S. I like the window screen mod too!

so i bought a valve for my big one and never used it
7 bucks for it!!
so i returned it and bought the stuff to make a few more of these
:headbang2
this time its on smaller tanks so i went with 1" LOL
this should drain almost as fast if not faster cus less water
:headbang2
also would like to point out im not using sch 40 pvc
this stuff is thinner and has a bigger I.D. then sch 40 pvc
"so it flows more"
:)
will post pix once i make the new 1" one
:)

I am imagining 2400gph going down your throat on one of these siphons if you aren't careful lol. Believe me, its not fun.

Cool idea. Ingenuity at its best.
