90g corner seal failed this morning. Thankfully it was a slow leak and only drained about 20g before I found it. The 55g planted was empty of inhabitants so I moved most of the fish into it. Cut the seals on the 90 so now I have 5 pieces of glass. Need to decide what silicone I'm going to use. Local on the shelf would be great but I think I will have to order.
Oh man, That would be a nightmare for me. Good thing you caught it in time! Awesome fish room BTW. you’re tanks are done nicely. I sometimes dream of building my own fish room but then I think of the up keep/time I’d need to invest and that puts an end to that dream lol.
Ordered 4 tubes of GE SCS1200, mixed up some weldon 40 and glued the caps down in the 260, and the rainbow Cichlids spawned in the 55g where they have been for less than a day.
I was out of town for a few days and came home to the fish room circuit breaker tripped and not sure why. The clocks upstairs weren't flashing so I don't think the power surged or flickered. I don't think anyone died.
And now for something cheerful.
My 90g reseal is on hold due to multiple family members not appreciating the silicone smell. Which gives me time to order some glass. The tank is 3/8in thick and has a glass center brace. All sides sit on the bottom panel. Do I need end braces that span the width of the tank or is the center brace enough?
I also ran across an ad for a solo zebra danio yesterday so I inquired if still available as the ad was 2 hours old. Instant response that it was. The fellow included the 2 300w heaters that were in the bucket with the danio, a 24³in cube acrylic aquarium, and the internal filters. I gave away the danio.
