My green house for fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
using the equation q=m.c.delta T
where q is the amount of heat added, m is the mass of water, c is the specific heat capacity of water and delta T being the temperature change

q for 10ltr = 837kJ
q for 100ltr = 837kJ

so energy wise is the same energy, however how quickly you supply this energy will depend on the surface area of the heating surface, so I would say that 100 lts would be better

Thank you gandalfdgrey.

So it's better heating 100ltsx2ºC instead of 10ltsx20ºC!!!!

I prefer this to.

THis has been a great idea I have a hothouse here I use to raise fish in. Do you find that heating the one large tank also helps regulate the temperature for the entire house. Interested in see this I was thinking of a similar thing when I redisign my hothouse into a shed with polycarbante for windows and roof lighting, I was planning on running black polypipe through into some lower tanks to heat the whole shed. Just an idea anyway

Yes, it helps. In my case i don't use it with that porpose but it helps to maintain temperature hight.

The black polypipe will do it well ;)

So here I am with some updates ;)

I know you were missing me

Well, I'll start with the rays tank.

The pics illustrate how the tank is

It's amazing how the plants grown in these two weeks. I had to take a few out because they were too many.

Is a monster

The heating system is working impeccably. The water, this weekend, has remained between 24ºC and 26ºC. Incredible.

In the other tanks in the greenhouse i measured 19ºC when the rays tank were at 26ºC

I am very curious to see how the system will hold during winter. Of course it will not heat as i need but it will help alot.
