Liam, I notice that to. That's incredible isn't it? They are fed 2 or 3 times per week and they are like this. That's amazing.

Now in winter i believe that they aren't going to have so much food at they disposal but i think they will be ok.

that is insane! geez, 2-3 times a week.

what are the average temps in winter in Portugal?

Incredible, isn’t it.

The air temperature where the greenhouse is, in winter, can go from 1ºC or 2ºC to 16ºC, depending if there’s sun or not. The water temperature, outside, can go from 3ºC or 4ºC to 10ºC. In the greenhouse, last year the lower water temperature I’ve measured was near 10ºC. That’s why I heat the water from the African Cichlids and some American Cichlids. Now I’m very curious to see how my fantastic :D heating system will work. I’m not expecting that it will be enough but it’s going to help a lot.

Awesome man, this has given me some thinking. I'm going to say, on average the temp in brisbane is roughly 14 degrees in winter. so in a greenhouse, i'd be roughly averaging something like 20ish? and If I do the black pipes running on the roof mainly in winter i might get something like 24 degrees (water temp) on average... which is pretty good.

hmm... If I get some money or possibly find free besserblocks (cinderblocks) I might try this, and breed plecos or something. :headbang2

Man, that's some serious monster fanatic "mania" for you... setup is totally UNREAL!

Hats off to you, bro! And of course also, wife, children, family, and friends who were involved and helped support you all thru this project. Such people like this are always good to have around.

Love the idea of using natural plant filtration, btw. I'm not familiar with the laws out in Portugal, but have you ever considered keeping any channa species? I'm sure they (especially subtropical) would love being in an environment such as yours. Totally ideal and perfect grounds for... :hearts:?!! :naughty: Just a thought?!!

Anyways, TY for sharing with us all at MFK. I'm certain you have inspired many members here, by doing so! Awesome job! :headbang2
