Awesome man, this has given me some thinking. I'm going to say, on average the temp in brisbane is roughly 14 degrees in winter. so in a greenhouse, i'd be roughly averaging something like 20ish?
Yes, i believe between 18ºC and 20ºC is a good number.

and If I do the black pipes running on the roof mainly in winter i might get something like 24 degrees (water temp) on average... which is pretty good.
Yes. If you have sun it's easy to obtain that temperature :D

hmm... If I get some money or possibly find free besserblocks (cinderblocks) I might try this, and breed plecos or something. :headbang2

Man, that's some serious monster fanatic "mania" for you... setup is totally UNREAL!

Hats off to you, bro! And of course also, wife, children, family, and friends who were involved and helped support you all thru this project. Such people like this are always good to have around.
Thank you.

Good people tend to have good friends around

Love the idea of using natural plant filtration, btw. I'm not familiar with the laws out in Portugal, but have you ever considered keeping any channa species? I'm sure they (especially subtropical) would love being in an environment such as yours. Totally ideal and perfect grounds for... :hearts:?!! :naughty: Just a thought?!!
Yes, in Portugal we can have them. No problem on that. It's a good idea and i'm going to think on that. But i have som many fishes and species that i'm affraid on getting more.

Anyways, TY for sharing with us all at MFK. I'm certain you have inspired many members here, by doing so! Awesome job! :headbang2

Your projects are always rockin'! I enjoy seeing thinks like this.

I have one quesetion- would a 300 gallon well-planted sump provide any serious benefit for filtration on a 360 gallon tank?

Of course. What kind of fishes do you have in it? Don’t forget that the ratio fishes/plants is very important. ;)

I had a tank, 200lt, only with plants and 2 pairs of Meridionalis. They staid there 2 years and had a lot of fryes.

I'm going to have a varying amount of rays in the 360.

I, as many others, have been reading your posts with great interest and admiration. I have hesitated commenting because I do not believe in giving opinions about subjects I do not have expertise or direct experience; however a wind turbine to power pumps in the greenhouse is also a project I have been wrestling with for nine months. Am I wrong or has there not been a mention of a diode to prevent the flow of current from the battery to the turbine when the wind is still? A diode (or retifier bridge) is a necessity in even a simple system otherwise the battery will be drained.

The Chispito Wind Generator is a (relatively) simple to build wind power generator designed and built by a charity that works to bring electricity to remote and poor locations in America's Southwest and northern Mexico. Their website has complete instructions and trouble shooting advice. Go to www.velacreations.com click on Energy, Wind Power and look toward the bottom of the page for the link to the Chispito. I hope you find this helpful.

PS
I have not built a Chispito. I will not have time until next summer; I have other pressing matters in the greenhouse.
