Thank You. were in Cleveland
I hear that alot from customers from out of town wishing that they had a store like mine near them.
We have about 400 tanks total. Specialize in cichlids with a side of this & that. :)
I was hoping you were closer to me :( we have a pet shop that "specializes" in Cichlids here in Louisville and they have maybe 50-75 tanks and I'd say less than half of them have Cichlids in them.

I really like to see the mom & pop shops make a come back & I think they could if done right with the right selection of livestock & supplies.
I'm actually working on opening a second store after about 18 years in the business in Mentor area of Ohio. The rate things are going around here I maybe the only independant fish store left by the end of the year? Other then the chains of Petsmart, Petco etc.
I'm looking to open right across the street from a PetSmart.
I say you have to reinvent the wheel to be & stay in the business. Don't think of getting rich from the business but enjoy what you do & make a living doing it.
We actually had someone drive 24 hours from Colorado to buy 3 fishes once. Have had couple people drive 7 hours or so on occasion to visit us. Then many every
week drive from 1- 2 hours away.
I would say i'm lucky but I worked my tail off to get where i'm at & some of it could be a little luck
also. Plus help from family & freinds early on make a difference.

The Blue jack is about 7" & is perfect. That was a lucky find.

Here's my fish hot rod.
