I wonder if they took one look at you and saw an opportunity, it seems it's rife out there!

Maybe keep a very low profile when looking at potential properties, or anything else for that matter, even stay at home and let your other half view them. She could probably seal the deal at the original asking price?

That's what we are thinking, since it's on Facebook, looked at Cristines Facebook and saw me and decided to apply the "foreign tax"
 
I have been seeing a lot of crying online about "Passport Bros". Every generation invents new words for things they love and hate. This is one of those things, both loved and hated.

It's fun watching snarky youngsters get themselves all wound up while telling us how much they don't care.

They used to call us expats, older men that moved abroad to live cheaper.
Now that younger African Americans are doing it they give it a new name. And I don't blame the men at all. Eighty percent of the women are all chasing after the top ten percent of men. Leaving the rest in the dust, then complaining when they move abroad or bring a foreign woman back to the states.
 
Brother congrats on the move and the huge but amazing change! You found a great woman who will take good care of you. Davao is my hometown and my cousins and other family are still there. It’s hotter than hell but like you’ve seen, everything is so much cheaper plus I’d say the crime rate is fairly low for a metro area. Thank you for sharing your journey!

I'll keep that in mind next time we go out to eat, what is a rare thing. She always complains it's so expensive, I'll cook instead much cheaper, so we don't eat out but maybe once a month.
