These are pretty common here, known as Orissa pan/Indian toilets. Now, one can imagine how to use it.....

From what I can see, you have to sit on the floor? And it looks like the opening is quite small compared to all the toilets I've seen up until now. I'm pretty anal about my bathroom preferences and so if that is the case I would definitely want to swap to a more 'western syle' toilet.

We that use paper have to bag it and throw away, the pipes are not designed for paper flushing.
I noticed at the malls in Honduras the trash containers in the toilet stalls are always full of used toilet paper, which I'm sure no one loves to see. Our house in Honduras doesn't seem to have any issues but we did build it ourselves.

The public water in Honduras is a problem; most can't drink it unless you were raised there. And the water company turns on the water for only 45 minutes, two times per day, morning & evening. People there are accustomed to this and to have running water available 24/7 you need to construct water holding tanks.

Thats actually the natural position (frogsit/squatting) people have been doing for centuries when doing the no. 2, pretty useful if you're in the middle of a field ang gotta do the deed. I've read something that it is safer to do this than simply sit because the pathway for your gunk is straighter and you have less gastrointestinal something issues. We have western style toilet but I still do this (kinda hard to balance), rather than to sit and my bum touching the rim🤮. Sorry for the long paragraph but this is my favorite position😝😅😭

This whole thread is making me laugh multiple times. Bathroom humor is a thing.

Speaking of bathroom humor. Look how amazing small mine is compared to the one in my apartment in Portland.
