Holy smokes... last three days reading all of your adventures..starting with the 1,500.. WOW...

After the 1.5k build and how quick/ easy it was for you.. Thought this was going to be a cakewalk. You have shown the patience of a saint sir... WOW. Inspiration to us all and a credit to the hobby.

However, as noted just recently... OMG!!!!! The FRT is gonna scratch the Acrylic!! :WHOA:OMG :nilly: OMG :nilly:OMG!!!:nilly:!:WHOA: after the smear/ stains and the two removals.. to much just to much.. He might have to go. I'm originally from Louisiana and if you need a good recipe for turtle sauce picante' then just let me know and I'll call my grandmother for you. jkjkjk...seriously.. did that even occur to you about the turtle?

And I know your still holding your breath (at least I am)... but when you put the pdf together...you gonna post a cost run down? Maybe write it in code so your wife doesn't know?? OR write it once as it really went down and then another modified "dream version" (similar to the build time/ steps of 1,500) of not having to recoat everything as much as you did?

Still, above all, your patience is admirable and a great example of how we should all strive to be.
Good Luck in finishing this up..subscribed. :D:popcorn:

p.s.--Not to tell you how to decorate your home, but I think something like this would really have been nice centered at the bottom front of your 1500. Again, not telling you how to decorate your home, just thought of your tank when I saw the plaque. I think it's from "bassinKorea" and his build.

Thanks,

I Went with 3x8 because I didn't want a 4' tall tank.

The FRT shouldn't be a problem with the acrylic. Have my other FRT in a 300 gallon acrylic tank for the past year now and not one scratch. I don't think their nails are that sharp to begin with and I don't think they can enough leverage to cause damage.

When I do the PDF I might include costs if you build it right the first time without all the problems.

thought i had to do wit pressure or cost !
You might be on to something here. I noticed the plywood builds that are successful seem to be in the 3' deep and shallower range. From memory only I can’t remember a successful plywood type tank deeper than 3' ??? I think the 3 foot mark pushes the limit on the structure or sealing surface. I'm not talking about pond liner tanks. I'm only talking about the painted on epoxy type tanks.
