that is awesome where did you get your mangroves from? they are looking great and what lighting are you using
Thanks! I got the plants, planters and substrate from another member here "hydrophyte". I'm not sure if he has anymore, but you can PM him if you're interested.

I'm using a standard T8 shop light (lined with aluminum foil) and 2 different bulbs, a "natural" sunlight bulb and something a little different, I'd have to look to be sure... But it seems to be working great, I'm loving the way they look! I can't wait to get home and see how much they grew this week...

So I came home this weekend to a JUNGLE!

Can you find the Mangrove?

After some pruning... Now you can see the Mangrove...

The spoils of my pruning...

And here's my best grower...

Hey man I got those mangrove leather ferns the other day. Do you want one or two of them?
Man, those would be sweet! I kinda feel like I'm running out of room in this tank tho... you know what that means (begins plotting new tank ).

Wow that Bacopa really grew well for you. I wish I could figure out what that stuff was(???). It doesn't look much like any of the Bacopa that I see around. It most closely resembles B. monnieri, but the leaves are larger, a light green color and the plant grows about 2X faster. It is the best riparium carpeting stem plant that I have found.

Yeah, its always grown well, but after I add the shop light and turned up the heat a lil for the Mangroves... Its turned into a BEAST, its almost a pain to keep it controlled. But now I just use it as a pre-filter, it actually catches most all of the pellets that the fish don't get right away and either the fish root around and find the pellets later, or the Bacopa ends up "eating" them! :nilly::nilly:

So I noticed DRAMATIC growth even just between when I returned and tended to the tank on Sunday and Tuesday, so I snapped another set of pics...

I wish I had thought to use this earlier, I have a 15cm "Scale Card" for photographs from my pollution response days in the Guard. I plan to use it from now on to help record the growth rates...

I hope they're not just "stretching" for light because I moved the light up a little higher??
