It doesn't look so bright now it's in place. Personally, I think it would have looked sweet stained and varnished having the timber floor. You need to build another where the TV is.:D

I am with you on the stained would have looked good, but the wife found this and loved it, and I had to agree with her. I am very partial to southwest rustic painted furniture. Will work on replacing the TV with another tank. :grinno:

Sweet. Nicely done. Bring on the cycle and fish

Will do, Cycling starts Monday.

very nice tank got me wanting to build one now. i want to do a 450 gal 8x3x2.5. quick question. when you installed the glass did you have to do anything to the surface of the tank inside as far as sanding to make the silicone stick? also how much of the sweetwater did you end up using?

thanks for the inspiration:headbang2

Nope, Just a little sanding, That is why I went with epoxy.

Little over 1 gallon. Did 6 coats. Plus a little left over for the braces, and the filter.

Good luck with your build, Very satisfying.

Good idea! If momma ain't happy, there ain't nobody happy.

Will work on replacing the TV with another tank.

Again, good job on going with the wife's color choices, now you get to build another one. And this first one looks great, looking forward to seeing the next one.
