I'm thinking that at this rate, you're not going to have a yard by 2014.
That's ok with me, I can't stand mowing the grass.

Not much progress, having a hard time getting the far end wall packed. The damn tree that was there, all those roots must have turned the dirt into saw dust, sand, or something. Took the wall down today and it caved in, this time more braces and more of an angle.

Between the square tank and the drum sits the old bottom drain in a bag of cement and a cemented skimmer Chipping the cement off and not breaking the drain or skimmer was challenging :)

flex air disc sits on top, after modifying the drain of course :)

skimmer placement, one is in, and waiting on wally world for the 2nd, sits where the white pipe sticks out.

water leveling tool, priceless for getting the pond water level right

Oh yeah, picked up a Medo LA-80B (air pump) today and a air flow meter so I can make / tweak and fine tune the air-lift setup. My goal is to flow 3,800gph on 86watts or less!! will see.......

I stuck with the walmart skimmer due to I can't justify spending 100's on a pond skimmer. The downside to wally world skimmer it only has a 1 1/2 female threaded bung. This go around I upgraded to a 2in flange.

I reversed the flange so incase the cheap unit breaks I can swap it out with hopefully no pain....

I put the nut top side but in doing so I had no way to tighten it. This should make life easy if it ever cracks in the winter or for unknown reason. I use PL roof and flashing sealant works great!!

LOL at creating your own socket wrench out of a pvc coupling. That was actually very ingenious, and probably loads cheaper than buying an actual wrench that would do the job...

Excited to see how this pond ends up looking. Doing my pond at my current house and the way it turned out gave me loads of new idea's for the next one at my next house.

Keep up the good work!

Holy shaft... Another upgrade.

Is the settling tank getting moved behind the shed as well?

When you say you want 3800ish gph flow, is that only from the water pumps or including the air pump? The disk on that BD should push way more than 4K gph alone....

Not much progress due to rain. Hopefully I'll have the plumbing inside the pond done later on today.

Muske, the settlement tank is going behind the shed in the pit. As for the 3,800+ gph that would be just the airpump, I'm looking to gravity flow into that 275g tote (settlement tank) and then have it pass into a 55g drum filled with poly strapping(bio) and then airlift that into another drum that will gravity flow that back into the 3 returns (tpr's)
The es4500 pump will pull from the skimmers and output into 3 sand and gravel filters, which would be for the waterfall.

At the time it was a great spot, wasted space under the deck stairs. It was a mother to dig with no room, it was a 4.5' x 4.5' hole, jacking up the stairs- nightmare. I'm happy that it came out of the ground with no problems.

If that tank ever leaked I'd be screwed. This go around the pit wont be backfilled.

Picture time :)

All the plumbing in the pond is complete, backfill time, and do work in filtration pit

Borrowed this picture - not sure who to credit for it. Flow pattern I hope to achieve.
