Needs more Geos imo haha, a group of those always looks nice...I like the big pearsi as a focus point of the tank, everything else is so small in there! I'm personally not a fan of tinfoils and balas, but when those get big, It will definitly look nice... How are those monos you have growing out? Man, if I had that tank, expect to see some bichirs for sure haha...but with those CLs and other tiny fish....a 20"+ poly probably wouldn't be the best, but maybe you could try a delhizi or two? or maybe even a few senegals? Of course, Ive never had a lungfish, but if they get along fine with bichirs, why not?
I will probably get a few more geos in the near future. They are cool fish. The p.bass are good, at the moment sharing a tank with my turtle. I think I might just keep them in the 200g tank as the smaller barbs would not last long with them, and he gets along really well with the turtle.

I was never really a fan of the lemon barbs or tinfoils, but I saw some fully grown lemon barbs at my lfs, and they look amazing. Plus my partner likes them. Could only get one lemon barb, so had to get the tinfoils to keep her company.

The lungfish is a good fish, never bothered anyone in the tank. (too big and dopey)

Yeah still looking into what else I will add to the tank. I know all the fish will get a lot bigger soon, and I am really trying to avoid aggression in the tank. As it is a centre piece in the house, dont really want fish beating on each other and hiding in corners and what not.

I was wondering about what had happened to this thread. I love this tank, especially the design. If I could make a suggestion to any future additional stocking ideas. I would go with another Datnoid, and 2-3 more geos since they enjoy the company of their own. But do what you like, its your tank.

Thanks guys
I will try to have updates every now and then. The fish are all doing good, and growing a lot. They all eat like pigs.

I will be getting some more geos pretty soon, at least 2-4 more. They are nice fish, and look good when they grow up. I do want to get another datnoids. I agree with you that the only additional fish I want would be more geos and dats if at all possible. Though you have to remember that in Aus, it is extremely hard to get a datnoid, and if you can get a 2 inch dat for less then $800au consider yourself lucky. But I am keeping my eye out for them. Hoping for a wide-bar though, but never seen one over here, and if I do, will have to convince the misses somehow............... though she loves the NTT.

Hello all, just an update on my tank as it has been a long time.
First off, I have unfortunately lost my Datnoid on the weekend..... Am pretty upset about it, in Australia they are extremely hard to come across and cost a small fortune. What makes it worse was he was only accepting frozen bloodworm, freeze dried shrimp and some other frozen foods. I very rarely gave him feeder fish. I thought I will fatten him up on feeders and then try again to get him on pellets. He ate a bunch of feeders and surprisingly straight after eating the feeders he started eating pellets. So I was very happy, though my celebrations quickly turned to stress as I discovered the next day he developed pop-eye. I found a couple of dead feeders in the filter socks and looks like they had pop-eye. No other fish was affected. I am still pretty annoyed at it. They were quarantined for a while as well......

Anyway on the positive I have managed to keep nitrates to 0 or just a bit above by using pothos and peace lillys in the weir/on top of the tank. Still do weekly / fortnightly water changes but am amazed the nitrates have stayed at 0.

Stock list is
1x Pearsei

1x Chocolate Cichlid
1x Geo Altifrons

I am now looking at adding some more fish to the tank, as it is now losing its monster credibility that my datnoid has gone.

I am tossing up between adding a few more fairly peaceful CA/SA cichlids to the tank such as Bocourti, Severums, Festivums or even an Oscar...

Other thought is adding my peacock bass and getting a few more...if that happens I can probably say goodbye to the Filament Barbs (not a major deterrent by the way). Would the loaches be fine with Cichla, they are about 4-5 inches?

Or something different such as Red Tail Giant Gourami, Silver Arowana etc etc....

Very interested to hear what your guys thoughts are considering the fish already in the tank are on the peaceful side.
