Need creative stocking for 75 gallon!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Instead of the Tapajos, how many firemouths could I do? I was thinking 4 total, 1 male and 3 female. Keeping the tank at 75 and doing Denison Barbs at the top. Realistically I could go up to 78. My lfs keeps their denisons there and they thrive.

Anyone have suggestions featuring good sized cichlids? Id like to keep 3-4 of one species and then a dither school. I had considered Red Head Tapajos at one point with dithers up top. Kinda got mixed reviews on the outcome of that.
I really like Mdoka cichlids they remind me of Tyrone from the Chapelle Show.

What lol?

Red heads are a bit big and communal for a 75 apparently. A harem of FM sounds good Stanzzzz7 Stanzzzz7 is an expert on these sorta fish

A group of 6 to 8 thorichthys should do well in a 75 with adequate filtration.
Ideally you want the females to outnumber the males.
A shoal of swordtails make good tank mates for thorichthys.
Provide them with a sand substrate and lots of hiding places.

Polleni get much too big for a 75 long term, and they would eat every single one of those danios. And probably the jewels too when the Polleni get big enough.
