pls only add on info, and not stupid posts to increase your post count. thanks
I hope you do not think that is what i am doing. i am just trying to learn and help at the same time. i have owned 10-15 of these fish over the years and allthough i have not had a scomb live more than a few months obviously i have invested a good amount of money into trying to learn about them and i am just trying to share that little bit of knowledge. ------a couple scomb pics and 1 tat from a poor camera. the first pics is of the best scomb i have owned. It would eat around 6-8 feeder guppies everyday and was not shy at all. It would hang out in the current at all times and just slowly swim for hours. The 2nd pic is after i got him a mate and the instantly schooled. And the 3rd pic is of my newest H tat that i thought was a scomb when i got it from the lfs. If i would have known i would have bought atleast 3-4.

one thing i find common that was initially not the belief, according to many people scombs seem to be way more aggressive than tats, although much more fragile. how true is this?

in my experience, scombs seem to adapt faster than tats.
the first day i buy a scomb, itll eat right away,
tats will hide for nearly a month, and i dont get to see them eat.
but once the tat settles,it becomes much more outgoing than a scomb.

I think because when you buy the scomb it is young so will eat anything.. I dun see any small tat in sg...adult will be more careful to their new home

i cant be too sure.
both scombs and tats get fed only feeders usually in lfs.
so should be about the same.

Cynodon gibbus

This is the exact species that All-Happy has right now. I believe he has 2 or 3 pcs in. Pretty fierce looking dude

They look like a payara and a Pug had kids together:ROFL:

Of the 5 Scombs I had the fastest growing one was actually kept in light brackish water.I'de say max size of Rhaphs and Scombs TBD. I asked around to see what the max size anyone has seen a Rhaph grown in a home aquarium and got NO answers whatsoever. If you're including Rhaphs and gibs then you might as well include Cynopotamus and Charax sp..

thats a great scomb pic.... here is a good pic of all 3 hydro... very good for comparison....
