i put a caught channel and brown bullhead in my 125 once (both about 7") and they were nuts, so I got rid of them right away...sounds like how yours was.

Im worried about him. its been about a week, and i havnt seen him eat anything. Iv put earthworms, cheese, and chikn, and there are feeders in there too, and convicts aned jewels. None of the other little fish are missing !! the poor cat just stays in his pipe (see the pic) and wont come out, untill it is pitch black, but he looks like he is loosing weight...and i cant get him to eat!

try tadpoles in a small isolation tank it worked for my bullheads i used to have

Im sure you probably checked them already , but just in case, check your water parameters again. See how the parameters are going.

Also, there may be something bacterial thats messing him up, someone earlier in the thread mentioned that the red sores on his face might be bacterial. I would also say that a little salt in the tank wouldn't hurt. It can only help relieve stress and other things.

I am not attempting to sound negative or anything, but sometimes they dont make the transition from wild to captivity. I am not sure why....

I have lost fish in the past and never really knew why.....I asked and asked and asked and there was so many different possible reasons , but no matter how much I tried to treat the tank, some would just die and give up.

Just be prepared for the worse......I know its not easy to say this but I am just being honest.

But in all honesty, I really hope your channel cat makes it. Channel Cats are just so much fun to keep.

^ Yep!
Water is good, already had salt, his sores have gone away.

I think its like you said, He is healthy, but just not adapting. he does gome out consistintly at night, but he just doesnt seem to have an appetite !!! My black belts dont bother him at all, but im suprised that a channel cat hasnt tried to eat the tiny cons or jewels...

their definately noctournal for the record and the reson some don't transfer immediately is because of how different tank water is from natural water. the tanks dont have all the algea, origanisms food avalible and they dont havethe natural light and water temp changes that naturallly fluctuate. i had a channel cat at like 5 in i caught but it grew incredibly fast and i ended up eating all the tank mates so i had to give him away
