Do you need that much heating? In case you're still shopping for heaters, pumps, sumps, UV sterilizers, here are some of the vendors I've dealt with:

Bulkreefsupply had the best pricing on Reeflo pumps/heaters (I must have bought out the 1,000 W heaters)

Aquatic Eco Systems has great fiberglass tanks (perfect for sump tanks)/big heaters

Marine Depot has good pricing on pumps, UV sterilizers

Fishtanksdirect has inline heaters/huge UV sterilizers

Thank a bunch for all those links! i bought my pump directly from reeflo. i need to purchase 2 more though. ive never been 2 fish tank direct or bulk reef supply.

only reason why i was going 6 watts per gallon because thats what my box for my 55 said.

my plan was to buy from aqutic eco maby someone has better pricing. i could get away with 1 5000 from them but i dont want to run a 230v

I placed an online order with Bulk Reef Supply on Black Friday, and they shipped my order the next day. Received everything in less than a week.

I heat my 300 gallon tank with a 400 W heater. I know this is a lot less than the recommended wattage/gallon. The 400 W heater kept the tank at a constant 78 degrees for 5 1/2 years. I'm speculating that the big turnover rate with the Hammerhead pump generates a little heat. With the water running through five Reeflos and a 240W UV sterilizer in the new system, I was planning on plunking two 1000 W heaters in the sump, and calling it good. Maybe I should get another 1000W for back up.

I wish I could have gone with 230 v pumps. Electrician said it would save $$$$. Unfortunately the pumps I needed for the different filters we'll be using did not come with 230 v plugs. Whatever you do, do not set up your Reeflo pump in a pan like this. The pump is very quiet, but the vibrating of the metal pan on the wood floor drives me nuts.

I purchased 10 of these mats to place under the new pumps.

Great project and build you have going. Good call with going with a couple of Ultimas. Have heard nothing but great reports from all Ultima users I've questioned. I'm going with Ultimas for biological filtration instead of a traditional wet/dry filter.

If you ever decide that you ABSOLUTELY need more space, I have a very radical suggestion.......you could switch to a tankless water heater.....sorry they're on my mind as we just had one installed. Couldn't help but notice that big water heater right next to your tank.
