I live near a migratory bird refuge, and they'll eat ANY fish - native, non-native - in my back yard "pond." Maybe the folks in the Michigan post could take some of my nuisance raccoons to feed on those snakeheads.
I agree. With their very aggressive temperament, they can do a lot of damages to the native flora and fauna.ewurm;962497; said:Now there will be Flowerhorns and cons amongst the myriad of invasives.
Use clove oil or whack their head with a blunt object.l3gend504;963363; said:i didnt release them into florida dont worry, i released them in new orleans. there were no stores open at all after the hurricane swept though my city so couldnt give them away. and how do u euthanize fish ?
Yes, terrible. Besides, there are several other ways to euthanize a fish.take em out the water and let them suffocate ? i think thats terrible....
Which in a dedicated hobbyist's book is not allowed. Have you ever thought what happens when diseases that happen in captivity only break out to wild populations? They become seriously endangered because they have not developed immunity against what disease may plagued on them. Have you ever thought foreign species often do not have natural predators or they themselves are located in the end of the food chain with no natural predators? Wild flora and fauna are being demolished.besides someone alrdy released the texas cichlid in the waters around here.
Because they do not learn of the consequences that may happen when you release foreign species. Many people tend to neglect how much they endanger the feral population by releasing captive-bred fish thinking they are doing it for the fish's own good.now when u go fishing, there always popping up and ppl seem to be happy.
They can cause much more difference than when not released at all. Use logic in this case. Their temperament alone can harm other feral species. They alone can endanger feral population by introducing diseases not seen in the wilds.i dunt see them causing much harm. flowerhorn and red devils cant be muchhh diffrent.
I agree, if the title of the thread conatins NEVER release fish, and you post that you released fish, do you think that you will be met with an amenable response?smpage;963413; said:why are you even posting in a forum titled "NEVER release an aquarium fish into the wild."? Are you just trying to start a fight? There are better ways to get your post count up.
I was just curious if this is all true??hishambarrie;986451; said:Aquarium fish cannot survive in the wild in the first place.
If you release them, most proberbly they will die.
Ones that survive create problems.
