My cousin released a couple of nice convict cichlids into the wilderness of Canada cuz he had no space for them in his 10 gal tank. LOL

I am sure the entire Country of Canada is thrilled. Once their fry work their way down the rivers into the USA, we'll be just as thrilled. Of course, Mexico will be happy to see Convict fry in their waters too. Who knows? Maybe they will even make it back to their original point of origin.

My mom has a fish tank. I found out that she caught a small carp in a lake, and brought it home. She's been keeping it, and now it's getting big. She offered it to me, but I told her I didn't really want it. What can she do with it? Would releasing it into the wild be a bad idea?

If you have a fish you don't want and can't give away, either keep it or have the guts to properly euthanize it. Dumping it in the wild is a coward's way out, and hurts native fish too.

NO!!! Throw an exotic species back in the water is never good idea...especially it's a young CARP which isn't even native to the Americas. Oh don't forget about tropical fish diseases....
