I was born in Chicago and later the fam moved to Wisconsin. No it didn't come with a sump the only thing I got was the tank so looking to build a sump. In the over flow boxes the bottom is clear there are three holes in the back. I posted a pic of what they look like. There is also two of the bigger holes in the upper center of the black piece. As for all the other holes in the tank I have the bulk heads to go into them how ever I'm not sure how to install them. Do the threads go into the tank or do they go outside. I was however wondering if i could convert one of the side holes below the wood to using a valve to hook a hose up for better water changes. Do you think this is doable.

Oh ya the wood is siliconed to the tank. I might take it off for my canopy I'm going to build but for now I'm still wondering if there is a use for it.
I've got kin in Monomonie and Eau Claire. Looks like you are finding plenty of help here. Make sure you go into Minneapolis and visit World of Fish. Bring plenty of money with you and look closely. They have plenty of rare fish there. You will love it.

Teflon tape threads. Silicone can be hard to remove, and you may want to pull the plugs.

I have been there a few times got some really good tips from them on stuff for the filtration. I do have to give a shout out to sea level fish in hopkins mn http://sealevelfish.com/ they provided me with the 18" tsn and the beautiful red devil. Are your kin around Menomonie into fish?

Sorry, no. My sister-in-law unsuccessfully raised oscars. I don't even know what that means. She did it. Or didn't did it.

so i still need an idea of something i can do for the back ground to hide the back. I currently am unable to fully drain the tank to be able to silicone in a diy styro background so do you guys know of something i can do that wont require silicone. Like i said earlier the back ground is a solid black piece of acrylic so i cant just change it out or scrape it off.

so my mom had an idea today and was wondering what you all thought. Take a few sheets of blue like 1/8 " thick plastic attaching suction cups to them and putting them on the back wall. It will be more maintenance because algae and other crap could form in the 1/4" gap but I think this may be my best bet. Another question is do you think i would have to do the whole 7' span between the over flows or could I get away with say two 3x3 sections?
