I agree 100%. I dont keep the koi in there too long. once they get too big I swap out to smaller. I also do lots of waterchanges so its all good.
the koi are to big for it now. 13 koi in a 300 gal is outragous. then add the 6 turtles. plus your filtration is severly under powered. id find homes for the koi and just stick with the turtles.

I do plenty waterchanges and checks...and its always good. I know how that sounds...but it is fine for now.

Looks great you can always add another filter if you need to. Or keep doing water changes as long as it stays healthy Good for you

The filter only serves the purpose of braking ammonia down to nitrites and then to nitrates. I never have any readings of amn or ites so the filter is actually sufficient. Only thing to get nitrates out would be more plants or water changes. With a bunch of fish you have to do more water changes...no big deal. If the fish and turtles didnt eat the plants I would have more...as it is they mow the parrots feather down when it hits the water.

The pond is fine Mark...The kids saying otherwise are 12-16 years old and are just throwing out info that they've read elsewhere. Go look at the stock in some of these 300g aquariums on this site....You could hold more fish if you wished. I wouldn't throw too many more in there though. lol
