New CB congicus and the big guy came out to pose

Thanks Hao, I was not able to determine cause of death he seemed fine one day and the next morning he had passed. It gutted me me almost as much as when my giant 23" ornate passed years back.

In the new year I will get an updated thread going, tank is pretty full now as I have been doing the Noah's ark model of stocking...two of each type. Weeksii, lap, del, ornate, endi and now congicus.

Hope the post secondary is going well for you and look forward to seeing you back in the Bichir game
Sounds like how I lost Godzilla and some other big bichirs awhile back. Any plans on upgrading tank/filtration or changing up the look/substrate of your tank in the new year? Fish keeping hasn't been the same for me. The interest isn't there atm!

@Burbotman,
I could not tell very well from the pics but do they have the same finlet count? The one you said looked more cb seemed like it had less... or just a funny angle that hid the full count?

I have changed the look of the tank somewhat over the past couple of years . Substrate has went from light to dark to now a blend of PFS and blasting sand. Plants, I gave up on the swords and went with anubias and crypts. My interest did take a kick after the death of the big cong, but having the tank full of my other guys forced me to push through
I find as my kids are getting older there is more time for my hobbies so hard to say what the future will bring.

Everything is cyclical, your interest will return and we will applaud the return :)

How true. When my son moved out there was more time to pursue a hobby. And after being away for over 20+ years,
I decided to get back into fish. It was a pretty quick progression that started with a 65 gallon tank and soon progressed to a 120g then the 210g to finally the 300g. So it will be interesting to see if a bigger tank or multiple big tanks are in your future. It is an addictive hobby!

Fine print; "If my wife allows me" ;)

I thought that once too in my life....then I got a reality check from my wife!
Once my kids are out and all grown up ill have time for more hobby. My son right now is asking me for his own tank for xmas, and im planning to buy him a 20g or 40g. So basiclly that my little tank until he ask me to upgrade his tank to a bigger one. I told my wife to that when we buy a house next year that ill buy my second big tank 240g and ill have the garage to myself, and she is fine with it.
