Dam Bro...I wouldn't even know where to begin to look...I have a couple of gig's of our "stuff" stashed in the archives of G-mail...

however, I'll bet you have a link to the "pond" across the pond that you'd gladly dig up huh?...
Ok, what's it gonna take? hmmmmm!?!

You know Bro, that has put you into a very "elite" sector of the human race...

You, my friend, are the only one I know,
who has, by hand, purged a hole in the earth, that is recognizable from a point in the heavens, to the south, and about 30,000 miles above the equator....:naughty:

I must have a link to it!!...;):D

I've not posted for a while on this, serious problems have resulted from the cold.

We lost the showa early on when temps were still below 2 degrees, then the sanke got sick and died after being moved inside and treated, then this weekend we lost another one.

All this has been brought on by the extended low temps plus the water quality has really got worse and worse as the months have gone by. Despite three treatments of potassium permanente the fish are still riddled with trichodina

To be totally honest I was just expecting everything to die and cover it and try again next year, since joining another forum(sorry Li) dedicated to koi and with some really good help from my koi dealer the problem has been found by total accident.

My return is under water and people have kept telling me that this reduces pump efficacy, something that never really bothered me before as the bow wave hits the other wall 17 feet away. Even so I changed the return to a above water level one and was shocked at how little the pump was pushing out.

After stripping down the pump tonight most of it was clogged with leaves(something I can't work out as the pumped from a chamber that is under cover and the inlet is flush against a foot of jap matting:nilly:). Removing solvent welded pipping even if they are free standing is a total pain in the arse as is re treading the inlet and outlet of the pump. Anyway in doing this it meant taking the uv out as well. Stood behind a set of curtains and wearing two pairs of oakleys I fired it up uncovered(I know I know, kids don't try this at home), nothing both bulbs burned out. After some math 9000hours is about a year so I can't grumble.

Two more bulbs ordered, pump going back in tomorrow by my estimate it will increase flow by 80-90%, I've already filled halve a vortex with the worlds finest filter foam(last roll of the dice before I discovered the flow problem), I have now even more on order.

I did say it would take a long time

So poor flow(look at the state of the water:irked:):

Keep the faith:)

Seems like a combination of problems just screwed you over. Hopefully getting all this taken care of will help get the pond back on track. Its been an impressive build to witness. Good luck man!

Tanks man, it's amazing what a bit of cleaning can do:

Dam Brother!...Like quadruple or better?
Not to mention the water looks clearer too!!
Nah bro, the water is still crap, but quaddruple is not far from it. I've stuffed the chambers with really fine filter floss, the stuff you get and throw away after a week but on a more heavy duty scale. The uv bulbs are shot and are on order, I dread to think about cleaning the filters 24 hours later, needs must;)

Air pump has packed in, just when you think things are on the up 'life has a way vomiting all over you'

Let Dave out for a pee last night and everything was off, I have four trip switches, one on the second meter feed, one in a rcd in the shed, one on the extension and one on the other extension that feed the pond system, for the first time since the build it had tripped at point two.

The air pump(this not something off of a tank) had gone(I found this out up to my knees in water at 05:50 this morning).

Something has ignited a fire under my bottom again, it may be a tacho kohkau, my dream koi......
