Brother, as soon as all the crappy solids get removed and the UV's have time to do their thing, won't it start to clear then? You DO have the UV's powered up and inline right?

Video's not working? Probably just an algae bloom from all that new water, it should clear up pretty quick, especially with the FF and UV going.

Awesome upgrades! I haven't been commenting much, but I've been checking your thread almost daily to see what new idea's you've come up with.

As far as the giant umbrella, what about one of those retractable awnings, like they attach to the back of your house? Then you could simply extend it out over the pond (partially or completely) to block out some of the sun during the summer.

Something like this:

Can you divert some of the flow to bypass the UV, effectively slowing down the flow that DOES go through it?...
I know when I diverted most of the flow around my UV, what DID go through it, got more exposure and cleared my tank quicker of green water...

I was talking of a ][V][oNsTeR umbrella that Yanbbrox and I spoke of some time ago...

It's not really that simple to install one, but I understand your point. I'm sure it will get there, likes been said, all the tap water will be causing it, but at the time I had no choice just had to re-fill.

How's this for a very lucky escape:

I went off out fishing yesterday and when I came back in I was hanging all the nets and stuff up in the garden to dry out. So I'm messing around and BANG followed by the sound of a lot of water emptying.

I turn around and the intake pipe on the nexus is hanging off and all the water is flushing out. It turns out when I put the pump on on Saturday I hadn't tighten the rubber boot going into the unit:eek:

It's a good job I was in.

:WHOA: :WHOA: :WHOA: :WHOA: :WHOA: OMG talk about timing...that was your luck for the month all in one shot right there...;)

I could just see Mrs Y. lying there in a pool of green water with her hand over the pipe trying to hold back the flow until you got home...

...and you'd be sleeping on the couch for the next week!!

I know:eek:

I've had another stoke of luck today must be down to Dr. Hildegarde Lanstrom, that's one for you American folk to google;)

I've been banging on about the green water for ages, I've not cleaned the nexus since the pump went in on Saturday. I've cleaned it today and it was filthy, I also looked at the UV, this thing is two years old even with new bulbs and noticed in the sunlight that is didn't seem to be glowing much, had a fiddle and the connectors are lose.

Now the two good points, the green will start to clear and I still can't believe what the eazy took out today, it was so filthy.

The bad point is that the light coming from it will now doubt encourage a cult to form worshiping the light at night. I'll try and get a picture with the upgraded bulbs running, it's tooked behind a bush so I can't see the glow:irked:

It's amazing what you can see at dusk if you go behind the bush;)

I heard that they last alot longer the other way but they don't work as good!!...:ROFL::ROFL:

Oh and good luck with the crowd of the worshiping nightlite...

For real Brother, it seems like maybe you should have played the lottery today instead!!
