New project, will take a long time

On the LHS is what came out:eek:

Got loads done today, hired a mixer:)

Pictures to follow

Take one ton of chippings, 1/2 a ton of sand 6 or seven bags of cement(can't remember;)) and you have the following:

Annoyingly the collar didn't quite get finished as we ran out of chippings:

The drain is concreted in:

Hole 2 is ready for all the pipework, vortexes etc.(that will be next):

The bottom of the collapsed side is now dug out 6 inches(you can't see it as it's full of concrete) and has been filled with concrete to stabilized the concrete to be added above, or it may get breezed up instead, me and my dad are still discussing that bit, either way it needed doing for a good base:

Looking good...are you going to do the entire bottom with concrete?
That was kind of the original plan as it is the way to do it properly(properly being fibreglass everything and not use a liner) but no I won't be doing the whole bottom. I will be concreting the recess where the pipes are at the moment and fill the hole they are going through with concrete. The gap between hole one and two will be fully concreted at the top even the the collar doesn't show that it will, yet.

The next day's work should be Wednesday(let the concrete go off), the plan is to do hole 2 with all the filters and pipe work, and if there is time brace it all up, the trouble is that another tricky bit so could go really well or take forever, time will tell.

Liner, matting and kaldnes on order, we might be that close:nilly:

I see...
Looks like you got everything ordered except the fish!...
How much Kaldnes media are you going to use in each vortex?

looking good hope you dont have anymore cave ins

I'm doing it the Waddlington way:
Chamber one, nothing other than the main settling chamber, most heavy waste will be removed in this chamber, via the vortex effect

Chamber two, jap matting in lattice, any remaining solid waste will be removed.

Chamber three, bio (Kaldnes) about 200 litres should do but I'm going to build it up one month at a time, start with 50 litres and move up from there, plus it's expensive;)

To cycle it I'm still not sure which way to go, I had planned to add 10 or so ghost carp to cycle, but I could add the kaldnes to my fish tanks just to give it a kick, which tank I'm not sure(I do have fish btw way;)) and then add the media in vortex three with waste tank water at the same time and leave it for a few days before I start up the system

Thanks Jjd, 'insert fingers crossed smilie here'

Cycling 20000 litres of water, where do you start:ROFL:

I'll have to ask Johnptc;)
