New project, will take a long time

I wasn't going to do an update until the weekend but I like to give Mike something to read at work(I don't know why but your avatar alway make me think your constantly at work;)).

First of all I wanted to share a pic through the new fence gate to under the trees at the back. Chopped up a lot of the undergrowth at the back to give me a bigger area for the soil/clay:

... and I finished the patio early which gave me some extra digging time:

Which gave me just enough time to get down to depth:eek:
I lying really it's only 3 foot 11 but its close enough for today:

Now I have nothing to distract me from digging, I have the space to put the waste so it's all go from now on, I want to get the the hole as it's sized now down to 4 foot all around and take it from there. I seen a ***** *** on ebay going cheap which should save DIYing the filters if I can get it cheap enough, if I don't, DIYing the filter isn't a problem it will just take more time.

If I don't get(or even better if I do:naughty:) it I'll uncover the stars but they're is 8 days left on the auction:ROFL:

All this was on the mornings waiting to go into work:

At 3 foot 11 depth level, I'll need another 6 inches or so down for the bottom drains and the contouring that will equal a depth of 4 foot 6 inch max to the drains.

interesting thread it looks like you have accomplished the biggest part of the Koi Pond (pleasing the MRS with her Patio) good luck on the digging. to see the outcome I would help if it wasnt so far away. besides I want to put a pond in next year here its a 2 part deal though cause I need to build them a winter home as well -36C doesnt lend well to outdoor fish lol I look forward to seeing the progress

there is nothing better than watching someone else dig a hole

terrific!!!!!!!!!! keep those posts coming!!!!!!!!! then we can download the pics and flip through like a online flip book!!!!!!!!!
