Here are where the three drains come out. They will then empty into a settling chamber. Today we also started the boulder moving process. Holy Hanna these things are heavy. I feel for the Romans. We roled the boulders over almond wood 2x6's. They're the Costa Rican version of Oak.
We put a pure concrete mix on the block to fill the holes. Then goes a latex cement sealer, then ceramic pool tile. In my other pond I just painted on the latex stuff and it worked great. The hard part was and will be between the big rocks and the block. I don't want the wall showing from above the water. I want the waterline to come half way up the rocks. This will be a nice challenge.
We just got the rocks on the retaining wall. The big one broke through the wall. I wish I could have seen them moving this one. I wasn't home at the time. I guess we'll see how we water proof this.
Most of the important rocks are finding their places. The top rock has a drain below it to increase the warm water circulation. They've also started hiding the skimmers and putting concrete on the wall. Holy crap these guys are fast. We are using a pressure sprayer to wash off some of the concrete so that the sand in the mix shows a little bit more.
