Finally an update! Lately I've been putting more orchids in the rocks and bromiliads in the fountains.

Un-expected hurricane winds came through Costa Rica and really beat up the plants. Not to mention all of the leaves in the pool.

The African Cichlids are reproducing. For some reason they don't seem to be as aggressive as when they are in aquarium. Everyone seems to get along pretty well.

The algae is starting to grow nicely in the filter. It will probably provide for a little more food for the younger fish.

I haven't put any monsters in there yet because I have still have a significant leak. I think that its under one of these big rocks because the water level seems to settle at the ceramic line. I'm thinking about putting on the goggles and going under water with this die and seeing if it seeps out.

The water clarity is without a uv light. I haven't turned the 55 watt light on that I have for about 2 months. I do see a difference, but I'm not sure that I like it. When the water gets to clear I can see too many of the imperfections on the bottom of the pool. With the depth being around 1.4 meters the clarity without the uv light is just fine for my taste.

I'll try again. I know the water clarity things sounds a little goofy but the pool looks so much better with the water a light green. It looks much more tropical. I first notice this when you looks at the pool from down below. Then when I wold look straight down on it it looked too artificial. Alot has to do with it not being very deep.

Have you though about adding some rocks for the cichlids to breed in/on to increase your population/possibly hide from the predators you are thinking about adding.
