I'm having some problems with a worm that burrows into the roots and eats the heliconia's from the inside. The leaves turn brown and the stock basically dies. The poison that they use is way too strong for me to use around the pool area where it could leak into the water system.

I'm also losing pretty much water again. I need to figure out where the leak is. Which is pretty hard during the rainy season with everything so wet.

Finally an update! I think we found the leak. We think that its in the tubing to the water outlets around the entrance of the pool. I covered them with plastic and the water level seems to be holding. This could mean that I plug up all of the holes except for one. I haven't clean the pool for about a week and its still pretty clean. Its a little greener then usual because the pump that is connected to the outlets also runs through the main UV light. For the last two weeks the only UV light that has been running is the 25 watt. Its doing a pretty good job for being a 23,000 gallon pool.

I'm so happy with the heliconia's starting to flower. I can hardly see the fence now.

The African cichlids are starting to eat by our feet in the water. Pretty Cool!
