Here are a couple pictures of the small pond with the Guapotes and Oscars. The roots of these plants are providing great habitat for the little Guapote fry.
In my swimming pond a blue african cichlids has a bunch of little blue fry swimming around. They look like candies in the sun.
The rainy season is in full swing and the plant are loving it.
This yellow breasted bird has targeted me as an enemy. They've made there nest in the bromeliads that I stuck to the palm. He's making my yard life miserable. Just when I start to relax, he dive bombs my head. I'm thinking about wearing a bicycle helmet to do my gardening.

I took some pictures of the Guapote fry. I took it at night when they are close to the edge. The Water lily's are blooming nicely.

Actually with the heating issue. I made a solar collector to heat it up a little bit. I helps just a tad. It gets super windy here and it really cools the pool down, especially at night.

I would think even in your coldest month that size pool getting daily sun would still hold temps in low 70s,high 60s coldest at night ?

In Costa Rica nature is loved and one if not the single best Latin American country for wildlife preservation and natural look . Have you had your pond published in paper, etc there?

I have never been there but my in laws have and loved it.

Fry, Lily and the pool is all cleared up now. It doesn't get much clearer. I haven't vacuumed the pool in about 5 days. I'm working on getting my ideas out there. We did a little patching where part of the leak was. JUst a quick reminder that my pool is about 23,000 gal. I have a 5,000 gal. pump runnning 24/7 and a 3,000 on one of the water falls and the other fall has a 1,200 gal. pump. That means the water is running through the filter system about once every 2.5 hours. I'd say the water is pretty darn clean. What I'm seeing though is the type of algae, tadpoles, water clarity is seasonal. I've been trying to upload photos for the last week and the site doesn't let me. I'll send photos as soon as I can.

I finally fixed the leaks. The water level has stayed the same for 4 days now. I so excited. The leaks where killing my water bill. Now the look of the pool is like I had originally designed it to be. It looks much better. I'll show you all if I can ever figure out how to post photos. I think MFK lost all of my other photos. Does anyone see any of the past photos that I've posted on this thread?
