be prepared to run the electricity bill way up to heat that thing!
I don't think heating will be a problem in Costa Rica. At least I hope not, unless he owns the power plant.

With 18 posts move along no need to comment. I guess a monster pond/pool is not enough.
Har har, too bad I come from a place where the validity of someones personal opinion isn't measured in Internet posts.

Seriously though tuggerd your attention to detail throughout this is staggering.

Actually with the heating issue. I made a solar collector to heat it up a little bit. I helps just a tad. It gets super windy here and it really cools the pool down, especially at night.

Earth (temporarily)
I just finished going through this thread over the past couple days, and although you've heard it already, great job man.
This is a huge project, and one that is very difficult, well done on seeing it through to the end, and sticking with it.

It has turned out beautiful.

Thank's again ya'll for the support. This project is far from being easy. I used to look at people with pools like they must have it made. The old "grass is greener on the other side" stuff. Well this pool is certainly keeping me busy. The leak also has me frustrated. We've went around the whole thing and can't seem to find it. I've narrowed the leak down to being above the ceramic line. But from there I don't have a clue. Thank god the rainy season is coming so my water bill will start going down. My UV light also burned out so its been pretty green lately. I had to special order one. I have 20,000 sum gallons of water in the pool with a 50 watt UV light. I know that according to the numbers its way too little. As little and under manned as it is the water is crystal clear when that little light is working.

I have two Ocellaris and one Temensis. There are also about 30 Guapotes,8 big ones, three oscars, and one gutsy turtle. Here are some more pictures. The glare is pretty bad, but I did my best at 2:00 in the afternoon. I'm trying to refine my small pond by re-doing the rock work around it so you see more rock then concrete. I think the worker is finally getting the idea. Man did it rain today. Things should start turning greener. One thing I've never been able to understand. In the pond with a bunch of monster fish, how do 4 or 5 little one seem to survive out of a batch of 500. The are still eatable size for most of the adult in there. Yet the keep dodging mouths.
