Hey guys. Sorry its taken me so long to finally post. Now that I have the water out of the pool I'm re-doing the things that I should have done in the first place. Due to in-experience I didn't. I'm in the process of raising the dividing rocks separating the garden dirt from the pool. When it rains sometimes I would get overflow into the pool. I'm thinking about putting an african cichlid wall in the dead corners of the pool. Basically a rock wall with plenty of holes for the cichlids to hang out. I would also like some monsters in there but they would eat all of the cichlids. This might add for some more hiding places for them and increase the survival rate. I'm still waiting for the last order of Pond Armor to finish this baby.
You should make some "reefs" out of large broken rocks for the fish to hang out in. Make em large so there are tons of places to hide that the larger fish like peacock bass can't eat all of them.

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of posting. I haven't been too inspired to update lately because the pond is without water and I'm still waiting for the PondArmor to arrive. Meanwhile I've been doing all of the things that I should have done from the start. I raised the rocks separating the garden dirt from the water. I also raised the skimmer edges. This allows me to mess around in the garden without having to be so carful about getting dirt in the pond. I had to grind the shine off of the ceramic so the PondArmor will stick. The orchids are still blooming like crazy. December is coming so its starting to get a little cooler with really strong winds. The heliconia leaves are starting to show the wear and tear. I realized that I forgot to put a key feature in any true natural pond. A rope swing. I know some of you granola people out there are saying "poor little fishy's". Well my son would try to jump on the african cichlids before and when the water would clear they would come back and be there waiting for him to jump again.

I had to put all of the fish that wouldn't get eaten in the other pond. It's a little too crowded, but the plants are loving the extra fertilizer. I'm starting some pink lotus water lily's in the filter to later put in my swimming pool. We'll see how that works out.

Looks great! The plants look to be thriving. How are the cichla doing?

I bet that new rope swing is gonna give that pond a lot more action

This is the coolest thing I have ever seen!
If I can get my wife past the "Eww, I am not swimming with your fish", I will be doing something similar.
I would love to see a few Iridescent Sharks swimming in there. That would be freaking awesome!
