Imo that doesnt change the fact that its a beauty. A rare sight to see any ntt live and grow to that size. The reason why you notice the broken bars is because you dont see many ntt over 10".

Well I've only have had him a year but I do big weekly water changes (60-75%) and feed pellets. I think the other member who grew him up did pretty much the same.

Wicked awesome NTT, Fun. I'm jealous! Great pics, dude. My oddball Indo dat is just on a regular high quality cichlid pellets and growing slowly yet steadily. Getting closer to the date I bought him at two inches.. so far, he's grown only an extra inch and half lol. So he's 3 and a half inches right now. I might try him on massivore soon.
