Thanks Paul, maybe i will do that. The FIRST pic is actually of the Noto. I've been trying to get a decent pic of him and his woman for a while, but my camera absolutely blows and i get really frustrated with it. Ill be able to get some really good ones when i get a new camera, they really put on a show!

Shadowstryder - awesome! Beautiful pike. I absolutely love these guys. Unfortunately I only have the one lent - he is about 12 inches so far, and the 150 he is in already seems too small for him. I have a pretty good shot of his crazy irridescent dorsal fully extended that i meant to post also. I am actually thinking about selling him if anyone is interested, I would really like to see him go to a larger tank - I am in portland.

If it was a female you wouldn't have to look any further.

you know, now that i think of it, it may not be a male. It doesn't have the submarginal white band, so i've just always thought of it as a male. Maybe he is not old enough yet? dunno.

I have the same issues with mine. no submarginal white dorsal stripe or
Red abdomens on either to indicate females, but no body striations to indicate male. So I always figured two males anyway.
But they swim together every where as if they are bonded. IDK......
At the size of yours it would definitely have the white dorsal stripe to indicate female. I've been meaning to send Vin Kutty an email to see what his thoughts were.

Heard back from Vin this morning. He said more than likely males if they don't have the
white dorsal stripe. That not all males will show the striations.
