Hello; Here is a question I asked in a different thread but the thread disapeared before any answer was given.

Say a member for some reason decided to change all his/her personal information and then rejoin the forum pretending to be a completely different person with a new account. My question is do the moderators running the forum have any way to recognize that it is the same old person and not actually a new forum member??

For those not aware of what was going on, let me say I do not plan to try this. It is not my plan.

I do not know enough about how the internet works to be sure. It does seem to me that somehow my computer is recognized. I can do a search one day and later get pop up ads for that same product.

I guess if the person was using the same pc they would be able to figure it out based on his ip adress or his pc mac adress if they have those capabilities. I assume they do since they can block someone from accessing the site based off their ip
