Hello; To @imabot - When the current health care law (Obama care) was passed the Dems had all the votes needed in the house and senate to pass it. No republicans voted for it at all.

Obama care is still the law of the land. The current republicans do not have the 60 votes in the senate to pass a repeal of that law in regular order. So they used a limited legislative ploy to change a small portion of Obama Care. That small change and a supreme court decision should eventually force the Affordable Care Act to have to be re-legislated, but it is still the law right now.

I was referring to how the radical right funded by the Koch brothers took over the republican party. And also the budget plan that slashed programs for things like free lunches for children who can't afford it when only 1/5 of the total budget goes to programs for the poor.

Those school lunches are a joke, they force the student to have food they don't want and they just throw them in the trash. I gone there with my daughter and there is a trash can full of apples and bananas just being wasted.

Yep and what's worse is the uneaten food cannot be taken from the school to be given to someone who may need it....it has to be disposed of.Who came up with that?

on a happy note, I was expecting perhaps 100 bucks or so on my pay with the tax cut, turns out a little over 15 bucks. or 30 bucks a month. still better than an increase.

as for school lunches, I worked as a day custodian, lunch room monitor, for elementary. middle and high school, and yes there is allot of waist, allot more than I remember when getting hot lunch as we called it when i was a kid. even a poor kid is not going to eat these healthy foods they serve, because its crap to them, better to give them something they will eat, even if aint the healthiest than to give them something they going to just dump in garbage along with there carton of semi warm crap milk.
