Hello; perhaps a letter to the address after you have gone to the next renters . (Do not include your name or return address.

A story. There is a crummy rental house near me. The owners are lowlifes but the last few renters have been no better either.
The last renters messed up the septic tank and field before they moved out. The renter also did damage to the house during drunken/manic remodeling binges for which he did not have permission. The renter wanted their deposit back but the owner refused.
Sounds like the owner is in the right I guess but I know him and figure he would have refused the deposit anyway on phony grounds.
It seems the renter may have gotten the last lick in. Someone (my guess being the renter) called the county official in charge of septic systems. Now the house cannot be lived in until a new septic tank and field is installed. The renters also apparently left bedbugs. The place has sat empty for about two years now.

Hello; By the way take a flashlight with you when you look at the tank. At the right angle the light will show up scratches.

Wow. I don't think I'm that bad of a tenant.. The only damage that's been done since I moved in was caused by the landlord not fixing things.
Example: my kitchen tap leaks (tried replacing the tap, didn't change) onto the bench. The bench is broken and has a crack around the tap. Water leaks down the crack, into the cupboard below. The shelf in the cupboard is rotting away because of this. At first I tried catching all the water in containers but I've since given up, now I just put an old towel under it and change it out every day.
I've removed the fleas that infested the place when I moved in, my ex fixed the kitchen floor which was a tripping hazard, the house stunk like assorted animal leavings - cost us a fortune to get the smell out.
I've improved the condition of the house if anything, even the real estate lady said so when looking at our original condition report.

Just got off the phone to a dude!

Next Tuesday (24th) I'm hopefully picking up two 4'L x 2'W x 1'H tanks and... Paying $110 for the both of them!!! I thought the dude had forgot to add a zero, seeing as that's what people charge for used tanks here but no, selling them for $55 each!

He's going to hold one for me but wants them gone asap, so hopefully they haven't all sold by the time I get there so I can get two. Drilled and ready to go.

Only problem is he lives like 3 hours away at the other end of the state, but thankfully I have a mate with a ute who's willing to take me up to get them for only a small amount of fuel money.. Life's looking pretty sweet right now!

Is a ute a sort of truck?
