(maybe) only because your exit tubes are too close to the top of that drawer? if you made it closer to the bottom, the water level won't reach the rim?... just my thoughts ;)

still an awesome DIY 3 level filtration device... never would have thought of using a "cabinet" for that :WHOA:
That's a very good observation, my wife said as much.

I was thinking if that exit tubes were too low, water would just trickle out and wanted it higher so that they would have a little more pressure coming out.

I will now add some exit holes in the middle and at the bottom, don't know if its gonna make it look silly.

I also realize that I need to bore holes in the sides of each drawer for air to pass in, wouldn't be much of the a bio filter if all the bacteria suffocate to death...

I would def recomend some cichlids and rays if you arent already considering it.
I would love to have rays, unfortunately, I don't believe rays and pond liners are a compatible pairing...someone posted here in this forum that they had to replace their filters every year because of his rays.

As Solomon so sagely said in Ecclesiastes ...there is nothing new under the sun

I would love to take credit for the idea, but I just chanced upon it in youtube and just patterned the design after it, the filter media of course, has been exhaustively discussed in this forum.

I'm sure you know the main issues with Aros and ponds is that one likes to jump out of the other, so an ugly netting might be needed if you want to keep a community of aros.

Snakeheads are very fierce on the other hand, meaning if you have a big pond, the tendency is to want to keep a good number of fish, at least more than a regular 100G, so if you get a snakehead then you're pretty much narrowing down your choices for other fish.

Btw, your water volume for your pond dimension would be around 330G

Alright here's an idea Arowana(s) wouldn't be much of a problem if you just don't freak them out. Because that's the only real time they jump, unless thier feeding out of the water. Try it out with a smaller Arowana I say get 1 as a test, because smaller Arowana(s) rather swim away than jump, the big ones do most of the jumping I know it happened to me. Alright a Snakehead would be a problem unless your getting one of the smaller species, other than that it would be fine. And I saw you were thinging of rays that would be a problem, BUT WHEN FEEDING TIME COMES YOU WILL HAVE TO OVER FEED YOUR FISH ALITTLE SO THAT THEY GET SOME. Useing shrimp works quite well it sinks to the bottom easy, But cut it up in to smaller pieces, because rays don't have the biggest mouths.

PLEASE POST ALL THE FISH ALREADY HAVE, THE SIZE & HOW MANY YOU HAVE.

AND ALL THE FISH ON A DIFFERENT POST, THAT YOU ARE THINKING OF GETTING.
