LOVE THIS POND! looks so natural!!!...it is made man right?? anyway someday...someday...:D:D

Thanks benito! It is manmade. Has a black liner all around. And some nice rockwork all around the sides w/ a waterfall that flows in as well. Probably around 7ft deep at the most. Wish it was mine as well. Its at my folks house. One of these days.

cost me about $300 to build....
The rocks... Free.. simply find a local farm near by... offer the farmer a few free beers... and he will happily let you take all the rocks along the edge of their fields. when they seed the fields they push all the rocks to the sides... so bring a truck and gather a few loads.

Wow, I don't know how I can follow some of those awesome ponds but here is mine:-

(a small sample are shown below for those who don't want the "full tour")

and

The water-feature's "all my own work" and the total cost was probably about £300 (including the "Titan 3000" pump & filter). Stocked fish:-

3 x Golden Orfes
3 x z-Carp
3 x Goldfish
1 x Mystery fish - I don't remember what it is but he plays nice with the others and that's all that counts ;)

Enjoy ;)

Hi,all of the of the ponds are nice but I must admit my preference for gangster and sbm, shortly I will build my own pond, thanks for sharing!

Here are some shots of my ornamental pond before I cleaned it out for restoration. I built this one around 1987. It is concrete. The main pond is 8ft wide and 30ft long. There is a smaller pond up above and a stream connecting the two. The upper pond and stream and marginal area form the filtration system. The stream is segmented into settling tanks.

My wife and I had been discussing whether or not we want to build a pond in our backyard; and after I saw this thread (and showed her), we decided that I will begin digging once it cools down a bit.

my "pool liner" pond is still a work in progress, but it is getting better...need more rocks to cover the edges
