My unfinished pond. Its running, but only has about 60-70 feeder comets in it to help cycle it over winter. I will be adding fish to it first thing in the spring. It is approximately 3,500g, and has a bog filter.

Yah, I think the feeders think their in fishy heaven . Just wait until spring when I let loose a half dozen shortnose gars in the pond, along with a channel cat and some sunfish... then it'll be fishy hell .
I added an overflow "creek" to the pond earlier in the week. This way, when it rains, it will overflow through this channel and not overflow the entire pond. I Folded back the liner, dug a shallow trench at the height I want the water to be, pulled the liner back into the trench, and then filled it with gravel on top of the liner. The gravel keeps any fish from being swept out of the pond, plus it looks nice. I still need to get all the landscaping rocks for around the edges, I just don't know when I'll be able to do that. Plus the plants for the bog. I'm not sure I'll get that done before spring either, since it looks like most of the plants at pond stores have been picked over pretty cleanly.
I think after seeing this entire thread, my parents are finally gonna let me make our pond bigger. From a tiny preformed pond, to a 15' long by 5' wide on one end to 8' wide by 2' deep slanting to 4' deep. With a waterfall and a bog filter. Stocking with a bunch of koi, a bass, and maybe a sturgeon. Only problem, is that my yard is on a slant, any ideas to fix that? Just dig untill its level?
